Baywatch

By Stephen Boudreau at 11:14 AM|

Every now and then I hear a story that absolutely amazes me. This particular item comes from New Zeland where a lifeguard described how a pod of dolphins fended off a potential attack by a great white shark by circling protectively around him, his daughter, and two other swimmers.

As Napoleon Dynamite would say, "Totally awesome!"

I've always been blown away by dolphins and how intelligent they seem to be. The most astounding aspect of this story (and others like it) is that it seems to indicate a degree of selflessness that, to me, doesn't seem as if it would be instinctive to a creature like a dolphin. To me, that's amazing and yet another tribute to the amazing creations of the Lord.

Have a nice day.

Rampant drug use? Eh, what' the big deal? Widespread prostitution? Hey, it's just another job, right? WHITE SOCKS? Not in my country!

Key quote from a defender of white socks: "'I can think of nothing nicer than a bright, shiny pair to set off a black pair of shoes and trousers or a stone-washed pair of light, blue jeans.'"

Wow.

Monkey Business

By Stephen Boudreau at 03:11 AM|

I've always found it amusing that people get so excited that some monkeys can understand some bits and pieces of sign language. What's the big deal? Two year old toddlers understand the beginnings of the English language. That's impressive.

So here's this story. As it goes, researchers left monkeys at computers to see what they would type and surprise, surpise... they attacked the machines.
